She walks in starlight

In actual fact I thought that Peter Jackson would introduce Tauriel as a love interest for Legolas. That would have been an awful surprise because I always saw Legolas as an Elf who is entirely absorbed in his job as a prince, stoic, archer, dwarf teaser and monosyllabic sentinel. And that was good. That's how Legolas should be. Luckily, The Hobbit 2 presented Legolas as the elf he was in the Lord of the Rings trilogy - *phew* - and introduced Tauriel as an interesting, emancipated and stunning new character (Yes, I know there are no women in the original novel, I read it, too. Neverthereless, her character was a true enrichment for the film.). And, on top of that, she had this sweet romance going on between her and everyone's favourite dwarf, Kili. Thus, here goes my new Middle Earth OTP.
